Will Gorlitz (1952 | Canadian)
Gorlitz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His family immigrated to Winnipeg when he was six years old. He graduated from the University of Manitoba and later from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax, NS, in 1977. He worked as a graphic artist for the CBC and following that as a sessional instructor at the University of Waterloo. In 2001 he became Professor of Studio Art at the University of Guelph, Guelph, ON where he still resides. Over the years he exhibited in several art galleries throughout Canada. His artwork is in numerous public permanent collections including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, and the Art Gallery of Algoma. His works have varied in style moving from abstract art to representational art, specifically to landscapes.
