Ontario Arts Council (OAC)
Exhibition Assistance Program
The Art Gallery of Algoma (AGA) is proud to be a recommender gallery for the Ontario Arts Council's Exhibition Assistance Program (Zone 5).
The 2014-15 program is open from June 2014 to February 2015.
The Exhibition Assistance Program provides grants of $500 to $1,500 to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in confirmed, upcoming exhibitions. Artists apply to third-party recommender organizations (including public galleries, artist-run centres and other visual and media arts organizations) located throughout the province in the zones in which they live. Approved applications are forwarded to the OAC by the recommender once the decision to award a grant has been made.
This program is open to Ontario-based professional visual artists, craft artists and media artists who have a confirmed, upcoming public exhibition. Exhibitions in Ontario, in other Canadian provinces and in international locations are all eligible. Exhibitions do not necessarily have to take place in a gallery that is a recommender. Exhibition Assistance grants can be used towards exhibition expenses including materials to prepare and install work, audio-visual equipment to present work, crating and transportation of works of art, fees for technical and installation assistance, exhibition promotional expenses, fees and rental costs and insurance.
